I have an HP12C calculator but I need to find the serial number and product number because I have a warranty problem. how do I find it. I think my serial number is Personal Information Removed not sure but I don t find the product number.

I just looked at the pictures for my account, it says Awaiting Approval for the JPG now, but the GIF should be OK. Perhaps that was the problem.

Edit: Awaiting Approval has dissapeared for the JPG now, so it shold be viewable now too.

you are right, on that particular equation couple of actions need to be done to eliminate all the roots.

I ment to the principle:How to eliminate the root from the expression: sqrt x

The foreign characters Chinese. are a strong indication that the memory in your Prime somehow got corrupted, and that is probably what is causing all your current problems. Try resetting memory and see if normal operation returns.

Simple memory reset: Home, Shift Toolbox Mem, Shift Esc Clear, OK.

If the simple memory reset doesn t help, try a total memory wipe which resets your Prime to its brand-new condition all user-installed programs and data will be lost :

1. Turn off Prime.

2. Press and hold down the F, C, and O keys simultaneously that s the letter O, not the digit zero.

3. Press On.

4. When the EA656 DIAGNOSTIC screen appears, release all the keys.

5. Press 4, 3, Enter. This wipes all memory.

6. When the blue OK appears, press Esc, 9.

Your Prime will then probably require the initial setup drag the logo, then select language, etc.

I am trying to duplicate the task of moving an algebraic from the display to the equation writer. The HP48s/sx had the ability. I have looked through all three PDFs that ship on the CD with my calculator.

I have tried to copy an algebraic while in the regular display, going to the Equation Writer, then pasting but can t get that to work. Does somebody know how to do this or did HP decide this was not a function that needed to be retained.

As you ar familiar with 48S/SX, I assume you are using the 50g in RPN mode.

With the equation in level 1 bottom level of the stack, press the silver down key, the equation should automatically open in the Equation Editor.
